SunshinePersonality- Esther Vongai Zimudzi

Our #SunshinePersonality today is Esther Vongai Zimudzi,  a young Zimbabwean who is a Revolutionary Freedom Fighter (RFF) and the founder of ‘Section 20’, a youth organization working for youth in marginalized and hard to reach communities in Zimbabwe.

Described as someone hungry to uplift society, Vongai is part of the Zimbabwe youthquack which is a cultural , political and social change movement. In 2020, she was incarcerated during a protest against the on-going public hearings for Constitutional Amendment No. 2 Bill. She was released on ZWL$3,000 bail a few days later.

Vongai attended Roosevelt Girls High for secondary education and later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Midlands State University. With her marketing expertise, she has worked for International companies like Huawei were she was a sales promoter and Samsung were she served as Getsam Regional Sales Manager.

She holds a leadership certificate from Sallys Women Institute and from Women hackathon accredited by Africa Leadership Academy and is part of the founders of Hear Me Out Foundation.

During the 2018 harmonized elections, Vongai contested the Ward 22 Hatfield area as an independent candidate.
