This edition of ‘You Must Know Them’ features ‘KuChina’ actress, Rutendo Karipfuwe. From acting to being a brand ambassador, Rue, as she is fondly known as is making a mark in the arts industry.
IDM; Tell us about yourself.
RK: My name is Rutendo Karipfuwe and I’m 26 years old. I’m an actress, digital content creator, brand ambassador and influencer. I am also the brand ambassador for Spar, ‘chikka chicken’ and Mudziyashe.
I am the production manager for ‘kuchina’ and the main character on the show which also won best drama series. My key career highlights would be that I was the main character on ‘Goto’, the movie which premiered at Sk joina in 2021. I was also a part of a huge campaign (Rudo harurovi love does not hurt).
I would like to be remembered as the girl that came from nothing and still made it and the girl that was fearless and wasn’t afraid to say no.
IDM: What drives the work that you do?
RK; Im driven by a sense of duty and the need for better and to be better for myself, my daughter and for the society and the world. I am a firm believer in the power that one person has to change things, beginning with the self and those in the immediate environment and their world. I want to be better, know better and see better, and all that starts with me waking up each day with a positive drive and attitude.
I’m passionate about life and acting allows me to explore and experience many different aspects of it. My desire and passion for a fulfilling life makes me want to research and learn more about people and the world as a whole, all for my personal development.
IDM; What do you see in the near future?
RK; In the near future I see my passion and drive bearing fruit due to my growth and development both in my personal and professional capacity.
With growth comes more opportunities and the ability to make the most of them, be it in my acting, in business and in bettering society.
IDM; What are your parting words or advice?
RK; My advise is that you should always be hungry in life and give every opportunity your all, knowing that every moment you’re alive is precious, for there are many who weren’t so fortunate.
