Protesters Dump Huge Snake At Acting Chiefs Homestead

In a bizarre incident, a sack with a huge snake was reportedly dumped at acting Chief Marozva, Ishmael Mudhe’s homestead on Sunday in what seems to be a brewing chieftainship wrangle.

Ishmael Mudhe has been the acting Chief Marozva since the death of Phillip Mudhe, who succumbed to Covid-19 in January this year.

He died at his homestead at Marozva village, near Bikita Minerals after having been unwell for several days.

The live snake was reportedly dumped by close relatives who are opposed to Ishmael as a regent and possible successor to the late chief, TellZim reports.

It is alleged that the relatives have sought the assistance of prophets to help them send a clear warning to Ishmael that they will not accept his reign whether on an acting or full-time basis.

Masvingo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said he had not received the report but promised to look into the matter.

The publication reports that the snake has since been taken to Bikita Minerals Police Station where it is being held awaiting collection by wildlife authority Zimparks.after
