On Thursday, Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs formalized a significant partnership with Zambia’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs by signing two key memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
These agreements are designed to foster mutual cooperation, enhance capacity building, and facilitate knowledge sharing in areas such as policy development, institutional frameworks, entrepreneurship, and cooperative development.
Minister Monica Mutsvangwa expressed that this collaboration is poised to support small and medium enterprises, driving economic growth in both countries.
“This partnership will unlock new trade and investment opportunities by promoting joint ventures across diverse sectors, ultimately enhancing economic development,” she stated.
“By engaging in collaborative research initiatives and utilizing existing international and regional agreements, we can elevate the visibility of our products and services.”
Minister Monica Mutsvangwa further noted that the exchange of essential policy, trade, and investment information will reveal new business opportunities, enriching the economic landscape of both nations.
She emphasized that this collaboration will streamline trade facilitation, empowering entrepreneurs from both countries to take part in trade missions, fairs, and exhibitions.
“The establishment of warehouses and trading houses will improve operational efficiency. Coordinated efforts with customs and immigration authorities will ensure seamless border operations, reducing delays and enhancing overall trade processes,” she explained.
“With the African Continental Free Trade Area now in place, we are presented with exceptional opportunities for intra-Africa trade. Strengthening our bilateral relationship through these MoUs will allow us to leverage these opportunities for shared growth and prosperity.”
Minister Mutsvangwa also highlighted that the partnership includes initiatives aimed at driving innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing economic resilience in both Zimbabwe and Zambia.
