Zimbabwean local documentary selected for US festival

After it successfully premiered at Egypt’s 10th Luxor Africa Film Festival in March, local documentary ‘Two Good Hearts’ has been selected for screening at the 12th annual Silicon Valley Film Festival. It was nominated as the Best Long Documentary Film.
The documentary was directed by Thomas Muziyirwa and the screening will be held between October 8 and 10 in San Francisco, United States. of America.
The director was over the moon to have his film screened at this prestigious event. The film follows the lives of Zimbabwean identical twins Everson and Everlet Nyamhere who are on a great mission to bring about the change in people’s lives through sharing the little they have with the needy within their community.
The document is Muziyirwa’s 3rd feature film. Previously, some of his works were selected to be showcased in several countries including Germany, Nepal, Egypt and Zanzibar.
He said, “it is great joy and excitement to announce that our documentary film ‘Two Good Hearts’ has been selected into the 12th Annual Silicon Valley African Film Festival.”
He went on to say, “In a world where selfishness and greed have become the norm, the brothers resorted to a simple life in order to help the orphanage and the marginalized in their society. However, a tragic death separates them as Everlet is struck by lightning.”
The Silicon Valley Africa Festival shares a journey across the African continent through the lenses of its seasoned and emerging filmmakers. The festival will present a hybrid of in-person and online presence this year.
