Body Of A Security Guard Found Burning At A Dumpsite

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has noted with concern the increase in ritual related murders after the beheaded body of a security guard was found burning on a pile of rubbish in Chiredzi.

 Zvazvawa Salani (60) was beheaded and his body set alight with tyres at a plastic recycling yard opposite Chiredzi Magistrates Court.

Chiredzi town  is still in a state of shock and is struggling to come to terms with the grisly murder of Salani who was a security guard at Maria Mabasa Plastic and Scrap Collection site

According to a police report, on the fateful day Salani reported for a night shift at his workstation. He went to his workplace as usual at around 18:30 hours to look after bales of plastics and scraps- and apparently, that was the last time he was seen alive.

The following day, his co-worker, Brian Mandisvita came to relieve him in the morning and never saw him. Mandisvita reported this to his boss who later made a police report and came to search for him.

As they were searching for him on the site, they saw a blood trail leading into the fire, where the torso was being burnt using tyres while the head was found in a shrub nearby.

The police have since opened an investigation into the murder as they are linking the it to money rituals whilst the Chiredzi community is still trying to establish what happened on that particular day.
