You Must Know Them: Kudzai Midzi

Today we profile Mr Kudzai Midzi, an all rounding successful career person whose life and achievements must inspire all of us. In the conversation between Identities Media (ID) and Mr Midzi (KM), we take you through how he made it where he is today.

IM: Tell us about yourself.

KM: My name is Kudzai Midzi, I am a couple of months shy of turning 50 and truly grateful for the gift of life that has brought me this far. My partner Carol and I have 6 amazing kids that always manage to make us such proud parents!

I lead the team at KFM Consultants and we assist non profit organisations manage their resources and operations more effectively so that they better serve the communities they work in.

I am also a Trustee of Tugwi Trust which works to inspire children to pursue their dreams and which also looks for ways to create platforms in which these dreams can be realized.

To keep fit I run regularly and also play squash where I am a Trustee of the Zimbabwe Squash Academy. As a Chevening Alumnus I give back to that community by helping prospective students with their applications.

I would like to be remembered as someone who brought about a positive change in the lives of others.

IM: What drives the work that you do? -What makes you wake up in the morning? -What is your passion?

I am passionate about children and seeing them achieve things they never thought they could ever achieve. I live for the moments when a child in rural Chivi realizes that life is far much more than the small world they have known and that they too can one day be travelling across the world being whatever the want to be!

I am passionate about transforming societies and wake up looking forward to seeing the amazing work that our clients are performing in communities and knowing that in our own small way we contributed to that.

IM: What do you see in the near future? -For yourself, community, business, country

Being an eternal optimist, I see a bright future all around! For myself I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and seeing my children thrive.

I am looking forward to slowing down in my work and mentoring those behind me to take over and grow our business and Trust to heights I couldn’t have even imagined!

I look forward to a prosperous, more united Zimbabwe where all citizens have access to basic economic and human rights that we might currently be seeing as luxuries.

IM: What are your parting words or advice?

We must dare to dream and thrive for the very best for ourselves and our communities.

And we must make the most of every opportunity that is presented to us in seeking to achieve those dreams! I think life is journey that we must enjoy going through.

I agree with Tony Robbins when he says that the secret to living is in giving and so my parting words would be let us not be afraid to give of ourselves, our time and our resources because in that I believe is where we find the true meaning of life.
