Teen Brother Jailed for 15 Years After Raping Sister Over Lost Memory Card.

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping his 16-year-old sister in a horrifying incident stemming from a missing memory card. The conviction took place at the Karoi Magistrates’ Court, where the accused pleaded guilty to the crime.

On January 26, the young man confronted his sister about the missing card. When she couldn’t provide it, he became violent, chasing her down before brutally assaulting her. Despite her desperate attempts to escape, he overpowered her and raped her.

Afterward, he threatened her to keep the incident a secret. This tragic case highlights the vulnerability of girls, even in their own homesplaces where they should feel safest. It underscores the urgent need for awareness and protection against such acts of violence, which can shatter the sense of security within families.
