President Mnangagwa to Lead Great Zimbabwe University’s 18th Graduation Ceremony.

President Mnangagwa is set to preside over the 18th graduation ceremony of Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) today at the institution’s main campus, located near Masvingo Teachers’ College.

More than 4,400 students are anticipated to graduate, underscoring GZU’s status as one of Zimbabwe’s largest and most esteemed state-owned universities.

Vice Chancellor Professor Rungano Zvobgo confirmed that preparations for the ceremony are complete. “The graduation ceremony will take place today at our main campus, with our Chancellor, President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, officiating,” he stated.

Originally, President Mnangagwa was also scheduled to inaugurate the re-opened Mashava University Teaching Hospital during the same visit. However, this plan has been modified. Professor Zvobgo explained that only the graduation ceremony will occur today, while the commissioning of the teaching hospital will take place at a later date.

He noted that this adjustment was made to ensure that the significance of the teaching hospital’s opening is fully recognized and not overshadowed. “The developments at the GZU Teaching Hospital are crucial and will greatly impact the province’s healthcare system and the nation as a whole,” he added.
