President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed the nation during the 21st National People’s Conference, reaffirming Zimbabwe’s commitment to unity, peace, and development under the Second Republic.

President Mnangagwa emphasized ZANU PF’s commitment to the founding principles of Zimbabwe and the party’s legacy, which is now reinforced by grassroots structures across all provinces. Regarding economic accomplishments, he noted the government’s successes in agriculture, including a record winter wheat harvest and enhanced livestock feeding programs supported by targeted government initiatives. The President also discussed major infrastructure developments underway, including extensive road rehabilitation and the construction of vital dams to secure water resources for urban centers like Harare and Bulawayo. He pointed out the mining sector’s resilience, which continues to enhance exports and contribute to GDP growth. Additionally, the government’s new Industrial Reconstruction and Growth Plan aims to modernize Zimbabwe’s industrial base, with a focus on supporting small to medium enterprises (SMEs) as a key component of local economic empowerment.
In the realm of education, the Heritage-Based Education 5.0 model remains central to Zimbabwe’s strategy, aligning academic programs with national development goals and preparing the next generation with the necessary skills for socioeconomic advancement. Coinciding with SADC Anti-Sanctions Day, the President reiterated his call for the removal of international sanctions, labeling them as unjust barriers that impede Zimbabwe’s progress.
