The government has issued a strong warning to owners of unregistered schools operating in informal settings, indicating that they will face legal action unless they formally register their institutions.

In a recent interview with ZBC News, conducted during an event celebrating the significant contributions of the private sector to Zimbabwe’s education system, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Torerai Moyo highlighted the risks posed by unregistered schools. He explained that these institutions often fail to meet educational standards, ultimately disadvantaging students.

Minister Moyo stated, “We encourage private individuals and corporations to engage in public-private partnerships aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Zimbabwe.

To those looking to establish private colleges, it is essential to regularize your operations by registering with the ministry. As the regulatory authority, we expect strict adherence to national laws.

Unregistered entities should refrain from offering educational services, as we will take appropriate legal measures against those operating outside the law.”
