Sanyati ZB Bank Robbery: Allegations Point to Inside Job by Security Guard.

In a shocking incident on Saturday, clients at the Sanyati ZB Bank in Mashonaland West province were reportedly targeted in a robbery totaling approximately US$134,000 and R38,800 under suspicious circumstances.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the ongoing investigation but refrained from providing specific details. “While we cannot disclose much at this time, the circumstances surrounding the incident raise significant concerns. Approximately $134,000 was allegedly taken during the robbery,” Nyathi stated.

According to reports, a security guard identified as Samson Mahohoma, employed by Peace Security, allegedly used his service firearm to confront the bank manager, Rufaro Lugundiya, and staff members who were counting cash in a designated area. It is claimed that he ordered them to lie on the ground at gunpoint, then proceeded to collect the money, placing it into a sack. He reportedly confiscated their phones and locked them in the room before making his escape.
