Bulawayo Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Rape of Vulnerable Woman.

A 39-year-old man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a woman with intellectual and physical disabilities.

The accused appeared before the Western Commonage Magistrate Court facing charges of rape and theft. He received a 15-year sentence for the rape and an additional six months for theft.

According to court proceedings, the man and the victim had previously met at a local beer garden. On May 29, he lured her with the promise of a drinking spree, which she agreed to.

Once they reached a secluded area in the bush, he violently pushed her to the ground and assaulted her. Following this horrific act, he stole her phone before fleeing the scene.

The victim promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to the swift arrest of the accused.
