Tragic Ritual Murder: Grandmother Arrested for Killing Granddaughter.

A 52-year-old woman from Shurugwi, Veronica Mudzipuri, has been arrested for the alleged murder of her four-year-old granddaughter, Tawanayasha Kadhene, in a shocking case believed to be linked to ritual practices.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that Mudzipuri, an artisanal miner, is accused of poisoning the child by lacing her maheu drink with a pesticide.

Following the poisoning, Mudzipuri allegedly cut flesh from Tawanayasha’s cheek and mixed it with herbs prescribed by a self-proclaimed traditional healer.Disturbingly, she is said to have consumed this concoction. The police confirmed that the arrest occurred on August 26 in Chegutu.

This heartbreaking incident underscores the significant dangers that minors can face within their own homes. It raises urgent questions about child protection in society and highlights the need for stronger measures to safeguard children from such horrific acts.
