Archbishop Eunor Guti, a prominent leader of the ZAOGA Forward in Faith (FIF) church and widow of the late Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, has made headlines by publicly declining a significant gift from businessman Wicknell Chivayo. The donation, which included a brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXR and US$250,000 in cash for fuel and personal expenses, was announced by Chivayo on social media as a tribute to her late husband’s legacy.
In a recent address to her congregation, Eunor Guti recounted an encounter with a man who was sent to persuade her to accept the gift. Despite the pressure, she firmly declined, emphasising that accepting such gifts would contradict the principles her late husband upheld. “I am not going to take that money,” she stated. “They better use it somewhere but not even on our projects, no.”
She expressed her desire to dissociate from both the vehicle and the cash, asserting that the church should not engage with wealth that could potentially tarnish its reputation. She informed the church’s day-to-day board about the situation, receiving their full support as they had been addressing inquiries from congregants regarding the rumored donation.
Additionally, Eunor Guti revealed that the church had been approached with another financial offer from a different individual, which she also declined due to concerns about its alignment with the church’s mission.
Her actions underscore a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the church and honoring the legacy of her late husband, reinforcing the importance of ethical leadership within the community.
