Following an exceptional performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the government of Botswana is showering their top athlete with a remarkable set of rewards and incentives.
The athlete, who secured a top 8 finish in the prestigious 100m race, will receive a staggering P250,000.00 (approximately $20,000 USD) from the government. Additionally, the athlete will be awarded P50,000.00 (around $4,000 USD) for setting an African record in the 200m event.
The Botswanan government has also promised the athlete a brand-new house in a location of their choice within the country, as well as an astonishing P1,000,000.00 and 12 months’ worth of groceries valued at P2,500.00 from the popular Choppies supermarket chain.
These extraordinary rewards are a testament to the government’s commitment to supporting and celebrating its athletes who bring immense pride and glory to the nation through their exceptional performances on the global stage.
