Zimbabwe Police Dismiss Rumors of Public Gathering Ban for SADC Summit.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has refuted social media claims that the government has banned or prohibited public gatherings ahead of the upcoming Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi described the reports as “false information” that the public should “dismiss with the contempt it disserves.” Nyathi emphasized that the Zimbabwe Republic Police urges citizens to continue observing the country’s laws while participating in various activities to assist in maintaining law and order.

The police statement aimed to quell any misconceptions and reassure the public that no restrictions on public gatherings have been put in place for the SADC Summit. Nyathi’s remarks underscored the importance of the public relying on official sources and dismissing unsubstantiated claims circulating on social media platforms.
