For Dr. Justice Mhishi, supporting persons with disabilities is not an act of charity but a lifelong calling rooted in the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to realise their full potential.

Dr Justice Mhishi is a Zimbabwean businessman, philanthropist and community leader whose journey reflects determination and commitment to improving the lives of others.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of Mhishi Liner Transport, a company operating in the transport and logistics sector.
His mission is to ensure that people with disabilities are recognised for their abilities rather than defined by their circumstances.
He actively supports charitable initiatives, with a particular focus on donating wheelchairs to people with disabilities, helping restore mobility, dignity and hope to vulnerable members of society.
“I believe that everyone deserves to be given an opportunity. There are many people with disabilities who are highly educated. Some are lawyers, some are doctors, but the greatest challenge they face is not a lack of ability, it is a lack of opportunity,” he says.
His conviction stems from years of engaging with communities and witnessing the untapped potential of people who are too often excluded from employment, leadership and decision-making spaces. To him, true inclusion begins when society moves beyond sympathy and starts creating meaningful opportunities for participation.
Rather than focusing solely on assistance, Dr. Mhishi believes communities should empower persons with disabilities by creating jobs, supporting entrepreneurship and ensuring they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives. “We must create opportunities for people with disabilities so that they feel welcomed and valued. They should be given responsibilities and platforms to demonstrate their abilities,” he says.
Throughout his journey, one lesson has remained constant; lasting solutions come from listening.
“Communities often know the best solutions to their own challenges. The best solutions are created with communities, not for them,” he says.
This philosophy has shaped his approach to philanthropy, placing partnership, respect and collaboration at the heart of every initiative. Instead of speaking on behalf of persons with disabilities, he advocates for creating spaces where they can speak for themselves, showcase their talents and influence policies that shape their future.
For Dr. Mhishi, disability inclusion is not about lowering expectations or offering temporary assistance. It is about restoring dignity, recognising talent and ensuring every individual has an equal opportunity to contribute to society.
