Pastor Nyatsanza highlighted the awards’ mission: “The List Awards were founded to restore dignity to the awards space by recognizing those who work selflessly and tirelessly to uplift our communities.” He emphasized the rigorous, transparent selection process that ensures every deserving nominee has a fair chance, reinforcing the integrity of the awards.
An exciting addition to this year’s awards is the Emerging Technologies Award, aimed at recognizing innovators who are leveraging technology to solve pressing community challenges. Pastor Nyatsanza remarked, “This new award reflects our commitment to staying relevant in a dynamic world.” He also outlined the diverse categories available for nominations, which include Humanitarian Impact, Social Impact, Climate and Environment, and more. The inclusion of three prestigious Pan-African awards positions The List Awards as a significant regional platform.
Advocate Chinga Govhati, Chairperson of the Selection Committee, reinforced the awards’ commitment to excellence. He stated, “The List Awards set a new benchmark by ensuring that winners and finalists receive not just recognition but also tangible benefits, including prize money and strategic media visibility.” He emphasized the importance of a competitive and transparent selection process, ensuring that nominees meet the criteria of demonstrating at least five years of impactful service to their communities. Govhati reiterated, “This independence from the Advisory Board ensures fairness and integrity throughout the nomination and selection processes.”
The event was further enriched by the insights of Advocate Nyaradzo Mashayamombe, the Convener of The List Awards. The List Awards not only provide recognition but also offer winners and finalists opportunities for continued learning and professional growth, including workshops leading up to the awards ceremony.
