For self-styled prophet and founder of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries the proverbial chickens are coming home to roost as sexual harassment allegations mount against him.
The Maenzanise family lit the fire under the prophet’s chair when they took to social media accusing him of raping their daughter. They went as far as claiming that the man of cloth had subsequently sired a baby with their daughter.
On June 26 this year the family was interviewed and they gave details of the alleged sexual abuse their daughter suffered at the hands of the self-anointed prophet. Although the daughter later refuted the allegations on Facebook, the floodgates had already been opened and accusations against the prophet started pouring in barely a week after.
Charity Dlodlo (42), a former PHD Ministries employee and actress now based in Malawi as a swimming coach, travelled all the way from that country to file sexual harassment charges against the prophet. Identities Conversations host Nyaradzo Mashayamombe interviewed Dlodlo on the Identities Media Holdings Facebook page who narrated her alleged ordeal that gave insight into meticulously plotted sexual abuse schemes.
Dlodlo also accused authorities of working in cahoots with the prophet to deny her justice.
“This is not the first time I reported this case against prophet Magaya, but it’s unfortunate that changed and my signature was forged,” she said.
There was no justice at all and at one time the docket went missing and the other one was Dlodlo joined the PHD Ministry on August 2 2015 and she said the date is etched in her mind because she “manifested” on the very day she went to PHD Ministries. She had gone to consult the prophet as lots of mishaps were taking place in her life including difficulties in her marriage.
She checked into the PHD Ministries’ Marlborough guest house for a one-on-one session with Magaya. She was then invited to the main church for further deliverance and was offered work in the ministry. The prophet went further to offer her financial help.
“I was approached by one ministry worker telling me of the offer to work for the ministry and I liked that hence I accepted the offer to serve the Lord. I would vet testimonies and translate live ones to be aired on PHD Ministries’ YADAH TV. I was so excited to work in the ministry to the extent that when the offer to pay my rentals came I accepted the money because I saw nothing wrong with that as I thought it was the man of God walking the talk. He would do that for many congregants especially women,” recounted Dlodlo.
A year later allegations and rumors of Magaya’s sexual scandals started circulating, but she would refute the allegations believing that the prophet would never do such horribly immoral acts.
“The prophet knew that I was also in the acting industry and he asked me to train young women and I was like, ‘Wow that’s my passion’. That was how I got close to the prophet and in that class was Sarah Maruta. The day prophet Magaya went to Israel Sarah called me saying we had to talk and we met in town. Because she was very close to me from the acting class she opened up saying the prophet had raped her, but I did not believe it.”
Dlodlo trusted the prophet so much that she even denied the allegations on behalf of Magaya and Magaya denied the allegations too. The two agreed that Dlodlo would keep Magaya updated by forwading all the conversations between her and Maruta to Magaya in which she complied until her Damascene moment came.
Love WattsApp messages from the self-styled prophet started popping up in her phone.
“He started sending me funny messages and the messages kept on coming and I would ask myself if this was the same man who had taught me to value myself. At one time he sent a text while I was in church saying he could not preach because of my cleavage and that was the turning point and I said enough was enough,” said the devastated young woman.
All these incidents led to an encounter in which she was asked to go to the one of the ministries’ offices to meet the prophet where she knelt before him thinking he was to pray for her, but instead he fondled her breasts and kissed her. After that Magaya started pampering Dlodlo so that she would not tell anyone about the abuse.
She said, “When I thought the WhatsApp messages were enough I pushed the overseer Admire Mango for a meeting with the prophet because I needed an apology but instead he went on to fondle and caress my breasts while kissing me and I cried out. After that incident I received death threats twice warning me to stop making noise about the whole incident. That prompted me to leave the country I because I no longer feel safe.”
Dlodlo, like other women coming forward giving harrowing tales against the prophet, hope that the wheels of justice will turn fast against the prophet.
